Windhoek & Surrounds

Situated pretty much right in the middle of Namibia, with a population of around 25 000 people and some of the most picturesque surroundings – the capital city makes the ideal place to start or finish a visit to the country. Not as fast-paced as many of Africa’s other capitals, the city blends together an effortless mix of old colonial architecture, a melting pot of cultures and some of the country’s first-class accommodation and restaurant options.

One of the most favourable things about Windhoek is its proximity to some of the country’s favourite private reserves, game reserves and national parks. The Waterberg Plateau and the Okonjima Nature Reserve are just two of the closest attractions, however even just driving out of the city for a day trip will delight visitors with landscapes seen nowhere else in Africa.
