Waterberg Camp

Waterberg Camp

Waterberg Camp is the rest camp within the Waterberg Plateau Park. Waterberg Camp boasts one of the loveliest views in the park – as it is elevated around 200 m above the surrounding landscape. The camp is set against the base of the iconic red cliffs that make up the Waterberg Plateau. The relative inaccessibility of the plateau made it the ideal place to reintroduce some of Namibia’s rarest and more endangered species, and a highly successful reintroduction program has brought wildlife numbers up to incredible levels.

With over 200 bird species in the park, the camp is popular for bird enthusiasts and hikers alike, who traverse the cliffs in the hope of sighting some of the rare Cape Vultures – whose only nesting ground in the country is found close by. Black and white rhino, sable, buffalo, giraffe and kudu are commonly seen in the park, and lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal and even African wild dogs can also be spotted. The camp is perfectly positioned for some truly epic game viewing experiences.

Waterberg Camp is located in the Waterberg Plateau Park, east of Otjiwarango off the D2152. Take the D2152 turning off the C22 and continue 17 km down the road, where road signs will direct you into the premises.
