Located around 50km from the Galton Gate, Olifantsrus is found in the remote and previously inaccessible Western region of Etosha National Park. It is Etosha’s newest camp to be built and it is also the only location in the entire park that exclusively offers camping. Making it the perfect place for nature lovers and those wanting to have an authentic bush experience to stay.

Campsites are well situated and spacious, and rare wildlife like black rhino and black-faced impala have made themselves quite well-established in this part of the park. One of the most popular attractions at the camp is the luxurious double story, thatch hide that has sweeping views of manmade waterhole below that attracts amazing numbers of wildlife.

The name Olifantsrus literally means “elephant’s rest” and this was coined for the amazing number of elephants that frequent the waterhole every day.

10 campsites that accommodate up to 8 people each and have shared ablutions. There are also beautiful picnic spots. The camp is self-catering although the small kiosk offer some cold drinks and light snacks.
